A senior figure from Capital Markets Board joins BtcTurk!
Bora Oruç, Vice Chairman of the Capital Markets Board of Turkey, has been appointed as a Board Member of BtcTurk — the first cryptocurrency trading platform in Turkey and the fourth to launch worldwide
BtcTurk, where Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies can be traded easily and securely, is going from strength to strength in its seventh year. The company, which serves users from over seven continents has just made an important addition to its team. Bora Oruç, previously the Vice President of the Capital Markets Board of Turkey, has been appointed to BtcTurk’s Board of Directors.
Bora Oruç stated that transitioning from a public institution to the private sector was a big challenge; “I’m happy to be setting sail on a brand new path. I feel like I’m starting at a new school. It’s a new generation world I’m stepping into, it represents the future of finance. As we all know, trust is indispensable when it comes to financial markets. BtcTurk has become a blueprint for successful financial sector in Turkey with over seven years of financial vision and systematic structure. For this reason, I am proud for starting to work with btc” he said.

About Bora Oruç
Bora Oruç graduated from the Department of Economics at Middle East Technical University in 1999.
Oruç began working as the Executive Vice President of the Capital Markets Board of Turkey in April 2014 and was responsible for the body’s relationships with international financial institutions, as well as the registration process. His work with the institution stretches all the way back to 1999, touching on development, regulation, supervision, issuance and regulation of public companies. Oruç later recieved an MBA degree from Cambridge University. He was a Member of the G20 Financial Stability Board Regulatory Cooperation Permanent Committee from October 2017-November 2020 and was the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Merkezi Kayıt Kuruluşu A.Ş. (Central Securities Depository of the Turkish capital markets). Over the years, he’s had opportunity to work with heads of state and important names in finance and has applied his experience to his work in Turkey.
